Poetry Month 18 – Adultery

Having shared Sophie Hannah’s Rubbish at Adultery earlier this month, Quiet Riot Girl mentioned that she liked this poem: Adultery by Carol Ann Duffy.

And goodness she’s right, it has some fantastic imagery in it. Go read it first, then come back. For what it’s worth. I’m only going to repeat a couple of bits at you and say “yes.”

“a hand on your thigh / tilts the restaurant”

Yes.

“Now / you are naked under your clothes all day, / slim with deceit.”

Yes.

See. Told you.
